North Dakota State Athletics is heading to a town near you as part of a new sponsorship with DuPont Pioneer to celebrate NDSU's close ties with agriculture.
The NDSU Tailgate Tour, featuring NDSU Director of Athletics
Matt Larsen and select Bison coaches and former players, will be held in conjunction with a series of Pioneer® GrowingPoint® agronomy plot events in eastern North Dakota.
Growers and fans are encouraged to attend one of the six tour stops, which begin in Steele and Jamestown on July 17, Wahpeton on July 18, and conclude on July 20 with stops in Hickson, Page and Thompson. Events are open to the public. At each stop, Larsen and the coaches will be on hand to talk to fans about the athletics program. Fans can enjoy a meal, mingle with coaches and register to win prizes, as well as pick up Bison athletics promotional material including yard signs and schedule posters.
The Tailgate Tour will be accompanied by Pioneer® GrowingPoint® agronomy plot events that will give growers a first-hand look at several new Pioneer® brand corn and soybean products, including new Pioneer® brand A-Series soybeans, the highest yielding varieties DuPont Pioneer has ever introduced. DuPont Pioneer agronomists and account managers will explain more about new DuPont™ Lumisena™ fungicide seed treatment for best-in-class Phytophthora control and demonstrate the new Encirca® services tools. Additionally, NDSU experts will speak at several of the events:
- Dr. Rich Zollinger, NDSU professor and Extension specialist – seed control, will speak in Hickson
- Dr. Kirk Howatt, NDSU associate professor of weed science, will be at the Steele, Jamestown and Page events
- Greg Endres, NDSU area specialist – cropping systems, will join us at the Steele and Jamestown locations
